Washington County is asking for public input on three route options for a new region trail called the Tualatin Valley Trail. The biking and walking path will run parallel to TV Highway (OR-8) and connect Aloha, Beaverton and Hillsboro. The route is meant to be a safer alterative to TV Highway for pedestrians and cyclists.
The trail is also part of a planned Turf-to-Surf Trail, linking the Portland area to the Oregon Coast. The Tualatin Valley Trail would connect with the Fanno Creek Trail and other planned trails, which lead to the Banks-Vernonia State Trail.
The proposed routes would either go through Aloha via SW Johnson Street on the north side of TV Highway, or SW Shaw Street or SW Blanton Street on the north side. The county wants public input on what locations they’d like the trail to help them reach, what conflicts may arise and asking for questions they should consider in planning.
