Washington County’s hotels ended the summer travel season on a high note as they continued to rebound from 2020’s low occupancy and average daily rates. According to STR, occupancy (OCC) levels for the month of August were 72.4%, a 41.3% increase over the same month one year ago. The monthly occupancy rate was nearly two points higher than the overall occupancy rate for the state of Oregon.
Average daily room rates (ADR) were also higher than the same period last year, with ADR for August 2021 at $126.94 for the month (a 36.3% increase over 2020). Countywide occupancy (OCC) levels for the first eight months of 2021 are up by 38.7% when compared to the same period last year. From January through August 2021, overall room occupancy was 60.2%, nearly one point below the statewide occupancy percentage.
Average daily room rates (ADR) for the same period increased by 6.1% to $105.47, compared to the first eight months of 2020.
