COVID-19 has directly affected the hotel industry throughout the United States, and Washington County is no exception. This time of year traditionally is a “soft” period for area hotels. However, we are still seeing decreases directly tied to the decrease in business and leisure travel due to COVID-19 and related travel restrictions and recommendations.
For January 2021, Washington County’s hotel occupancy averaged 42%, a 25.2% decrease from the same period in 2020. The average daily room rate (ADR) during the same period was $85.21, a 23% decrease from the same period in 2020.
The following graphs illustrate the weekly occupancy, ADR and revenue per available room (RevPAR) trends from January 2021 compared to January 2020.
