COVID-19 has directly affected the hotel industry throughout the United States, and Washington County is no exception. This time of year traditionally is a “soft” period for area hotels. However, we are still seeing decreases directly tied to the decrease in business and leisure travel due to COVID-19 and related travel restrictions and recommendations.
For January 17-23, 2021, Washington County’s hotel occupancy averaged 42.4, a 24.3% decrease from the same period in 2020. The average daily room rate (ADR) during the same period was $84.40, an 22.6% decrease from the same period last year.
The following graphs illustrate the weekly occupancy and ADR trends from November 7, 2020 through January 23, 2021.
