In late September, Coronavirus Relief Fund Cultural Support grants were issued to 621 organizations around the state. Thirty-two Washington County arts organizations received more than $1.6 million of these funds, which were part of a relief package passed by the Oregon Legislature in July.
Funds, distributed by the Oregon Cultural Trust, were awarded to arts organizations statewide that are dealing with effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, which in March forced the closure of venues and the cancellations of events, including fundraisers. Six months after the closures, arts organizations are continuing to struggle as many venues remain closed.
Recipients of the Cultural Support grants include Broadway Rose Theatre Company ($292,631), Beaverton Arts Foundation ($204,670), Beaverton Civic Theatre ($83,004) and Hillsboro Tuesday Night ($25,890), among other arts organizations. See the full list of organizations receiving grants >>>
The Clackamas County Cultural Coalition will be distributing the relief funds to Washington County’s grant designees.
