Several Black business owners have teamed up with the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce to form the Black Advisory Business Council in Oregon’s Washington County. The goal of the council is to inspire, empower and promote the economic growth and stability of Black businesses and professionals in Washington County.
The Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce said Ashley Howell saw the need to connect and support fellow Black business owners in the area. She reached out and President Deanna Palm worked with her to form the council.
Current members are Howell, owner/founder of Arnell Recruiting Services; Lozelle Mathai, CEO/founder or Closing Your Books LLC/Body of Accounting; Raina Evans, former Portland Rose Festival Queen and owner of Ready to Rent/R. Lee’s Aroma Rocks and Titonian Wallace, owner of Nesace Media.
