A message to the local industry 3/17/2020

During this unprecedented time, our commitment to you is to keep you informed and updated and reassure our travel and tourism industry and future visitors to our great state that we are here. We are already focused on looking forward to see how the Washington County Visitors Association can help our destination recover from the current crisis.

Our top priority is to be a reliable resource for our tourism and hospitality industry partners.  We have two websites: tualatinvalley.org, our consumer-facing site, and our new industry site, wcva.org, which is designed to inform, connect and share relevant information with our travel and tourism industry. At this time, our focus is to disseminate information about COVID-19, and we encourage you to bookmark WCVA.org and keep checking back for information as we learn more.

Most WCVA team members will be working from their homes and all have the ability to remotely access our network. Our office is remaining open, as our CEO Carolyn McCormick will be in the office daily. She is available at 503-644-5555 (office), 252-305-2203 (mobile) or carolyn@wcva.org.

As more shelter-in-place orders are issued, we know that many of our clients and colleagues will be working remotely as well. The WCVA team is available to you, via video conferencing, phone calls, and email. We look forward to continuing to work with all of you, be it through typical channels or through tele-collaboration tools. A complete list of staff contact email addresses, phone and responsibilities is located here.

Things are changing daily in the effort to control the spread of COVID-19 in Oregon and beyond. On Monday, March 16, Governor Kate Brown announced new restrictions affecting gatherings and business operations. The goal of these restrictions is to protect the health and safety of Oregonians, but we know it is taking its toll. We’ve seen many of our restaurants, bars and wineries act quickly to change how they operate and make pickups and delivery part of their business model. Please let us know if you have updates you’d like us to add to our website.

We wish you good health,

Carolyn McCormick & WCVA team
